Just for Today I Will... Be Proud of Myself - Week 3

Last week's assignment was actually deceivingly difficult. Be proud of myself. I should be able to do that, right? For the most part, I am in a much better place today than I was five or so years ago. That is something I can be proud of. But, I'm not where I want to be yet.

Just for Today I Will... Create Something - Week 2

On Monday this week I went to my weekly writing group. We switch out every week between Screenwriters and what has been dubbed as "Others" (basically all other kinds of writing besides screenwriting.) So this week was my turn, "Others". I think this meeting was appropriate because we kicked off a motivational project for the "Others" that the Screenwriters group began a few weeks back. So in the next two weeks I, along with anyone else who wants, will be writing a minimum of 500 words on anything we want. We came up with 3 suggestion topics (Travel/dream vacation, Favorite childhood toy, and Envision your life as a writer 5 years from now.)

Just for Today I Will... Do Something for Myself - Week 1

The first week of this took a little getting used to. I wasn't really sure what something I should do for myself. I think for the most part I justified this by taking 5 minutes to stop what I was doing at work and just take a breath. This week was really hectic because it was the first week back from a week long vacation, so there was a bit of catching up to do.

I think the only major thing I did that I could say was "for myself" was going to a tapping party at Gordon Biersch. It's my favorite restaurant, and I enjoy going to hang out and have a beer with everyone.

Just for Today I Will... Laugh and Play - Intro

A little backstory before I begin. This little idea began last year around the time of my birthday when I was feeling a little less than inspired. My fiance brought up the concept of taking things one step, or one day, at a time. She had me write a list of things that I would like to do. Small tasks that would make me happy while also giving me a challenge that I could accomplish. Things like, writing, excersizing, or doing something spontaneous.
